Would you like to learn the fundamentals of coaching, get some practical tips and obtain accreditation?  NSBHA in conjunction with Hockey NSW has organised a Foundation Lead Coach Workshop at the end of July.   It is a practical session for 3 to 4 hours which will be delivered by Hockey NSW and will prepare you for your coaching accreditation.

It is open to all participants across NSBHA clubs.   There is no charge for this workshop.

Hockey Australia have updated the coach accreditation pathways under the HockeyEd platform.   The levels of coaching are now called Foundation Support Coach; Foundation Lead Coach; Development; Advanced and Performance.

The Foundation Support Coach (formerly known as Community Coach) is the first accreditation in the coaching framework and is aimed at providing prospective coaches with an introduction to the fundamentals of coaching.   This FREE accreditation is completed online and takes approximately 2 hours to complete and you receive your certifcate at the end.

The Foundation Lead Coach (formerly known as Level 1 Coach) is the second accreditation in the coaching framework and is completed in 2 parts.  The first is an online course, then the second is a face to face workshop where you get to implement your learning.  The workshop takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete.  You need to complete the online material prior to participating in the workshop.

Face to Face Workshop (provided by Hockey NSW staff) :

Date: Saturday 29 July 2023

Time: 3pm to approx 7pm

Place: 1/4 pitch, Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen (adjacent to the Hockey House)

NSBHA will email participants the links to HockeyEd and instructions on how to register on this platform.   The registration for the Foundation Lead Coach with HockeyEd costs $50 per person which will be refunded by NSBHA upon successful completion of the course and gaining the relevant accreditation.
