2023 U11 Indoor Development Program

The popular NSB U11 program has been running for several years. It provides helpful exposure to new indoor players and

Coached by NSB rep coaches, the program focusses on several key areas:

• Indoor-specific skills such as the 'set', passing and receiving, etc.
• Indoor rules so the player has confidence to play in local competitions
• Structure and match-play

In the past this has been a very enjoyable experience for the players who have all made new friends from other clubs.

All sessions are at the Willoughby Leisure Centre.

• Numbers will be limited, registration is essential.

• The program will consist of 4 x 2 hour sessions

• The 2023 program dates are: 12/11, 19/11, 27/11, 3/12

• The session times are likely to be 10am-12pm, 12-2pm & 2-4pm

• The cost will be approximately $60

FAQs

Can U11s do U13 reps?
Priority for reps is given to players already in that age group, but U11 players are occassionally invited if numbers of players in the U13s don't fully support a team. Unless this circumstances arises we do not accept nominations of U11 players.

Does it really matter which session I do?
If you can't make the most appropriate one, you can still do the other one. The content is basically the saame, it is just that the match-play will be relatively easy or difficult for the players.

What if I can't attend all sessions?
That's OK, but you must book and pay the full fee.

Do I need a uniform?
No! Come in your Club, NSB or casual kit.

Do I need special equipment?
You must have shin pads and a moputh guard. Indoor hockey uses a slightly different stick, which is thinner and easier to use. We normally can supply some spare sticks to those who do not have them. At worst case a field stick can be used.
