NSBHA has managed to secure two small spaces at the Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen – a ¼ pitch and ½ pitch. The ¼ pitch has been in operation since January and is proving an incredibly valuable resource for the local hockey community.  The ¼ pitch includes the use of a nearby Club House which has been a welcome addition, plus NSBHA has added a storage container to house all the bulky hockey equipment. Temporary lighting is being installed in late March to ensure the community continues to fully utilize this space, with permanent lighting being installed in mid-2023.

On behalf of NSBHA I wish to acknowledge all those volunteers who have helped at the Working Bees to prepare the ¼ pitch site and surrounds for our junior hockey players, families and visitors.  It looks amazing!

The Sydney Academy of Sport are installing new synthetic turf at the ½ pitch, replacing the old surface which was damaged by 2022 flooding.  The installation is happening over the April school holidays – we remain hopeful it will be ready by Term 2.
